A closer look / The barrel sauna
This barrel sauna is modeled on one Big Creek built. Keep scrolling and it comes apart, one layer at a time. Scroll back up and it goes back together.
Drag the sauna to turn it.
01 / The way it feels
Bring a little retreat into your everyday life, with space for warmth, comfort and time for yourself. Think of a backyard sauna, a cold-plunge deck or a reading nook by the window. Once it's there, you use it every day.
02 / The materials
Good projects start with honest materials. Cedar that smells the way a sauna should. Metal that keeps the weather out. Glass where you want the view. We talk through what fits your space, the way you'll use it and your budget before anything gets cut.
03 / The details
Abe grew up Amish, where you learn that the parts nobody sees matter as much as the parts everybody does. Square cuts. Tight joints. Benches that sit right and floors that run true. Getting them right takes a little longer, and it's why the work lasts.
04 / Your project
Strip any project back far enough and it's a stack of good decisions. Tell us what you're picturing. We'll sketch it with you, price it plainly and build it like it's our own.
Start with a sketchWhat we build
Each drawing comes from a real Big Creek project. Open one to see the finished work, and save the ideas you like to send to Abe.
01 / Backyard retreats
Barrel saunas, cold-plunge decks and quiet corners. Warm wood and a place to leave the day behind.
02 / Decks & outdoor living
Decks, stairs, cable rail and shade. Morning coffee, dinner outside and one more reason to stay out a little longer.
03 / Floors & room refreshes
Plank and hardwood floors, laid flat and finished clean. Warmth and character in the rooms you use every day.
Make it yours
Pick a project and watch it take shape: a pencil sketch, then color, then a few finishes to try. Save the looks you like and send them to Abe.
Accent walls & trim 01 / 13
Painted paneling and a natural wood bench bring texture, warmth and an inviting place to pause.
Good for Entries, dining rooms, bedrooms.
Finish Pine
Concept drawings. Abe builds to your room, your measurements and your taste.
Meet the person behind the work
Abe Stoltzfus grew up Amish, where you learn to build by building: alongside family, with your hands and without shortcuts.
That upbringing still shows on every job. Plain talk, square corners and a site left cleaner than he found it. Today Abe runs Big Creek Services on Colorado's Front Range, helping homeowners turn the ideas they've been sitting on into something built to last. A sauna out back. A deck for summer nights. A wall with some character.
A good place to start
No. Bring an idea, a few reference photos, or the part of your home you'd like to improve. We can start there.
Indoor and outdoor home improvements: saunas, decks, floors, accent walls, built-ins and finishing details. Abe can talk through your idea, its scope and the next steps.
It depends on the size, the materials and the details you choose. After a walk-through, you'll get a clear price in plain words before any work starts.
Yes. An accent wall, a stair rail or a few repairs are all worth a call. Bigger projects start the same way, with a conversation.
Big Creek is based on Colorado's Front Range. Include your town when you get in touch so Abe can confirm he can get to you.

How it works
Follow one project, a built-in reading nook, from an empty wall to a favorite seat. Yours starts the same way.
Call, text or send the form. Rough ideas and photos are welcome.
Abe comes out, looks at the space, listens and measures. You'll know quickly if it's a fit.
A sketch, a scope and a price in plain words before any work starts.
Square, level and tidy, on the schedule we agreed. You'll always know what's happening next.
It isn't done until you say it's done.

You don't need a finished plan. A space you'd like to change, an idea you keep coming back to, or a "what if" is plenty.
Email it to Abe or copy it into a text. Nothing is sent until you send it.
